4:14 May ______ no longer be an infant, tossed back and forth by the waves, blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Help ______ to grow in wisdom.
4:15 May ______ speak the truth in love and in all things grow up into You, Jesus, who are the Head.
Prayers for non-believers:
4:17 May ______ no longer live in the futility of his/her thinking.
4:18 May ______ be made aware that he/she is darkened in his/her understanding and is separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in him/her due to the hardening of his/her heart. Lord, soften ______’s heart and draw him/her to life with You.
4:19 May ______ never lose all sensitivity (to You) and give himself/herself over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.
QUESTION: Are you “in all things” growing up in Jesus or are there areas in your spiritual life where you are still an infant?
YOUR STORY of the week: “91/91 for West Africa.” The following is an excerpt of a Young Life Africa Facebook post regarding an Ebola update and a call to prayer written by the YL Africa directors. (We are taking this opportunity to stand with YL Africa in prayer, to help YOU know how you can pray for them specifically, and to use our network of over 2,500 email & social media followers to hopefully bring about many, many more prayers before the Lord on the behalf of everyone in West Africa.)
“I have a plea for more prayer in a focused and committed way: 91/91 for West Africa. Psalm 91 has come up again and again in my conversations with our Young Life teams in Liberia and Sierra Leone as a source of strength and hope. It seems appropriate and powerful for us to join them (in prayer) in this. Would you commit to praying Psalm 91 every day for 91 days for West Africa? We will begin on Monday, Oct. 28th and end 91 days later on Sunday, January 26th. Please get everyone possible to join us in this prayer. Pray for an end to this disease. Pray for our Young Life leaders and kids in West Africa–for their protection, for their courage as they bring light in darkness, for mobilization of resources, and that God would be glorified in this. Thank you for standing with our friends and leaders in YL Liberia and Sierra Leone and for standing with the people of West Africa in this dark time.”
