Pray Psalm 43

Psalm 42 & 43, considered one Psalm in many Hebrew manuscripts, speak of one whose soul is downcast, who has shed many tears, and who feels rejected by God, yet hopes he/she will praise God again. As you pray today, who comes to mind that is downcast in spirit and need to be reminded that God is their stronghold? You may want to READ or LISTEN to the chapter before you begin.

Psalm 43:1     Vindicate ______, O God, and plead his/her cause against [the ungodly]. Rescue ______ from deceitful and wicked men.

Psalm 43:2     God, You are ______’s stronghold. May ______ never say, “Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?”

Psalm 43:3a     Send forth Your light and Your truth, Lord. Let them guide ______.

Psalm 43:4     May You, God, be ______’s joy and delight.

Psalm 43:5     When ______’s soul is downcast and disturbed, may ______ put his/her hope in You, God, and praise You again, his/her Savior and God.

QUESTION: Can you truly say that God is your joy and delight?
