Pray Ecclesiastes 2

Today we begin our journey through the book of Ecclesiastes! Take a moment to pray these scriptures over someone today.  You may want to READ or LISTEN to the chapter before you begin.

Ecclesiastes 2:11     “Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.” May ______know that in light of eternity, the things of earth are truly meaningless. May ______ live with eternity in mind.

Ecclesiastes 2:21     “For a man may do his work with wisdom, knowledge, and skill, and then he must leave all he owns to someone who has not worked for it. This too is meaningless and a great misfortune.” May ______ know and live in light of the knowledge that he/she cannot take what he/she has gained on this earth with him/her to eternity.

Ecclesiastes 2:24     “A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God.” May ______ learn to find satisfaction in what You have called him/her to do on this earth, God.

Ecclesiastes 2:26     “To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God.” May ______ please You God, and may you give him/her wisdom, knowledge, and happiness.

QUESTION: Are you living for the here and now or are you living with eternity in mind?
