Pray Matthew 6:1-7

Take a moment to pray these scriptures over someone today. You may want to READ or LISTEN to the chapter before you begin.

Matthew 6:1a    May ______ be careful not to do his/her acts of righteousness before men, to be seen by them.

Matthew 6:3     When ______ gives to the needy, may ______ not let his/her left hand know what his/her right hand is doing, so that his/her giving may be in secret. May ______ know that You, Father, see what is done in secret and will reward him/her.

Matthew 6:6     When ______ prays, may ______ go into his/her room, close the door and pray to You, Father, who are unseen. (This was spoken to contrast the hypocrites, who prayed simply to be seen by men.) May ______ know that You see what is done in secret and You will reward him/her.

QUESTION: Whatever your ‘acts of righteousness’ may be (prayer, fasting, giving, etc.), are you doing them to be seen by men or the Lord?
