The following prayers are taken from 1 Timothy 3:1-13, which the NIV lists as “Instructions for Overseers and Deacons.” We encourage you to pray these scriptures over your church leaders as well as other believers you feel lead to pray for.   You may want to READ or LISTEN to the chapter before you begin.

3:2     May ______ be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, and able to teach.

3:3   May ______ be one who is not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, and not a lover of money.

3:4     May ______ manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect.

3:7     May ______ have a good reputation with outsiders (non-believers).
