Pray Isaiah 61:1-3

Take a moment to pray these scriptures over someone today.  You may want to READ or LISTEN to the chapter before you begin.

Isaiah 61:1     May Your Spirit, Sovereign Lord, be on ______. May You anoint ______ to preach good news to the poor. Lord, send ______ to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and to release from darkness the prisoners.

Isaiah 61:2     May ______ proclaim the year of Your favor, Lord, the day of Your vengeance, God, and [tell others that You] comfort all who mourn.

Isaiah 61:3     Lord, provide for ______ when [he/she grieves.] Lord, bestow on ______ a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

Isaiah 61:3b     May ______ be called an oak of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of Your splendor.
